ABOUT KRISTEN SHAUGHNESSY

After a 30 plus year career as an anchor/reporter Kristen Shaughnessy is now an independent journalist exposing fraud in the financial market and fighting for trade settlement and market reform. Her work is largely on X at @kshaughnessy2.

She was an anchor/reporter at NY1 for 26 years. She was named to Irish America's Magazine's Top 100" list and was chosen as one of the "Top 50 Irish American Power Women and "Top Media 30".

She was reporting live from the World Trade Center on September 11 when the first tower fell and took part in an upcoming documentary for the 25th anniversary. Her series for the 15th anniversary won a NYS Associated Press award.

In the final years of her television career Kristen and four of her female colleagues took on the fight to make sure female journalists are valued for their hard work, experience and institutional knowledge.

Their case made headlines in countries around the world, including Brazil and China. They are often asked to speak to small and large groups and have mentored countless women and men at various stages in their careers.

An Introduction to MoLI - Museum of Literature Ireland and How It Brings Irish Writing to Life

Hear from David Cleary, CEO and Museum Director of MoLI as he shares an introduction to the Museum of Literature Ireland. MoLI is located on St. Stephen's Green, in the heart of Dublin, within the historic buildings of Newman House. Opened in 2019, the museum is not just a place where literature just sits behind glass and too often literature is treated as something to admire rather than something to experience. But at MoLI, Irish writers aren't just distant figures; they are voices you meet, worlds you step into and ideas you feel. David will share that MoLI is where Irish writing comes alive.

ABOUT DAVID CLEARY:

David Cleary is a native of Adare in Co. Limerick, Ireland and has been working in Hospitality and Tourism in one form or another for over 25 years. Having worked in hotels and museums, he has travelled the world promoting Ireland and helping to shape people's experiences when they vacation on the island. Now as CEO of MoLI, David hopes to turn the museum into a literary hub for tourists wanting to know more about Ireland's famous writers and books as well as celebrating what makes the words within so special.
