Q: Do I need to be a member to attend a meeting?

A: No. Nonmembers are charged a fee to attend our in-person events.  Our Zoom events are free to all.  See our full list of upcoming events here.

Q: Can I bring a guest?

A: Yes. All members in good standing may bring one guest to most IBO Events. Some restrictions may apply. 

Q: Do I need to be Irish to join the IBO?

A: As stated in our bylaws, The Irish Business Organization (“IBO”) of New York is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, nondenominational association which seeks to promote, foster, and advance the business interests of Irish and Irish-Americans. IBO membership includes persons who are Irish citizens and/or American citizens with Irish ancestry and/or people who have no Irish heritage and may never have lived in Ireland, but who are connected to us by friendship, by commerce or, most commonly, by a love of Irish culture. A: No. The IBO welcomes all types of business professionals from sole proprietors to corporate executives.

Q. Do I need to be in a certain industry to join the IBO?

A: No. The IBO has members in every working industry including: Finance, Hospitality, Law, Medical, IT, Construction, Real Estate, Advertising & PR, Education, Banking, Tourism, Arts, + more. See our full list of industries here! 

Q: Do I need to live in New York to be a member of the IBO?

A: No. The IBO has members across the USA who enjoy a discounted rate with our International Membership. More details here!

Q: Can I join the IBO if I live outside the USA?

A: Yes! We offer an International Membership level for those not located in the United States.  Full details here!
