Tami Ellen McLaughlin is a marketing communications professional with extensive experience in financial services marketing and a passion for nonprofit media and organizational support. To better understand the changing nonprofit landscape and sharpen business and social media skills she has completed NYU SPS coursework and Fundamentals of Social Media certification at Muck Rack Academy.

She served on IBO-NY Executive Board — Membership Officer, and Chair, Women’s Networking Committee — 2019 - 2021 part of the leadership team that focuses on promoting, fostering, and advancing the business interests of Irish American business people and the Irish diaspora in the tri-state area and beyond. The IBO-NY is noted for its unique forum and regular networking meetings, events, and initiatives.

As creator and chair of the IBO-NY Women’s Networking program, since 2018, she and committee members have driven programming, project management, event structure and social media strategy for quarterly in-person events, and most recently virtual, Covid-related Zoom networking calls. Many of her LinkedIn connections have supported and amplified this critical initiative and attended in-person and online events.

The last in-person event was a very successful and inspirational HerStory Ireland 2020 St. Brigid’s Month Networking Lunch in February with guest speaker Treasa Goodwin-Smyth, Radio Broadcaster at Ireland Calls Radio Show and co-host of the St Patrick’s Day Parade broadcast for WNBC.

Tami Ellen accomplished her career goal of pivoting to the nonprofit sector when she joined the Sober St. Patrick’s Day® Foundation, Inc. (SSPDF) in June 2020 as its new part-time Executive Director. That journey started a few years ago when she was an invited guest, then a volunteer, at the NYC alcohol-free celebration of Ireland’s patron saint. She’ll be working with the SSPDF Board and engaging stakeholders to commemorate the foundation’s 10-year anniversary in March 2021, and inviting her network to learn more about the foundation and support the movement — stay tuned!
