Guest Speaker Bio: 

Mark is an entrepreneurial CEO with an outstanding record of creating value and building profitable businesses. Mark has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry, encompassing operations, commercialization and consulting. He has executed numerous M&A, financing and strategic partnership transactions, (from both sides of the fence), for a broad array of middle market and emerging growth companies in technology, life sciences and healthcare services. Mark has a passion for new technology, new “stuff” generally and all things creative.   Originally from the North of Ireland, Mark now lives here in New York.

Mark is currently CEO of Freyeur & Trogue, a technology development company that fosters, develops and commercializes technologies with applications in the Healthcare and Life Sciences markets.

Mark is a current advisor to and past CEO of Medikly Inc, a Marketing Automation, software company.  Prior to that Mark was the Worldwide President of DDB’s healthcare business, where he was responsible for a global communications business spanning 40+ offices in over 36 markets. The business covered advertising, digital, integrated communications, HCP promotion, branding, naming, design, market shaping, med ed and scientific communications.

Mark has previously held senior positions at Publicis Healthcare Communications Group where he was responsible for the global sanofi-aventis business and at Interbrand where he was CEO of their global Healthcare business.

Mark began his career as a pharmacist with the UK retail giant Boots the Chemist and later moved to clinical pharmacy at St. Georges and Kingston General Hospitals in London. It was, however, a love of writing that led him to a new career in advertising - starting as a copywriter at The General Advertising Company of London Ltd. Later, Mark and a partner, co-founded their own unique Health focused advertising agency, which was quickly acquired by WCRS. The company eventually became part of Havas.

Mark moved to New York with Havas, where he held senior positions at Robert A. Becker, Euro RSCG and Jordan McGrath Case & Partners, Euro RSCG and ultimately at Euro RSCG Worldwide Headquarters, where he helped devise and build their global healthcare business – Euro RSCG Life Worldwide (Now Havas Life).

Mark has worked on some of the biggest pharmaceutical and life science brands – across virtually every therapeutic category. He has developed successful commercialization strategies and programs from early-stage and market development, to product launch and late-stage lifecycle management. 

Mark holds a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacy. He is a board member of the prestigious Galien Foundation and a board member of G3 Global Genomics Group. He is a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and is a past Co-Chairman of New York Corporate Development for the American Diabetes Association.
