ANNUAL ELVES SHOEBOX TOY FACTORY REOPENS

SATURDAY DECEMBER 3RD 1PM

In 2012 The New York Irish Center along with the Irish Day of Action Committee Volunteers met a more seasonal type of need, to some of the worst affected areas in the Rockaways after Hurricane Sandy, by making and delivering over 600 shoeboxes to children and families that were severely displaced. This magical effort has continued every year since because there is still a need for it. When the New York Irish Center reopened its Shoe Box Factory complete with volunteer elves and made another 500 Shoe Box Gifts that were delivered to the Rockaways and distributed by “Homes for Humanity” to children in need. In 2016 we will continue this seasonal relief effort by reopening our Shoebox Factory and bring a little joy to those in need of it most during the holidays.
