The New York ‘Mary from Dungloe’ Irish Gala Dance will take place on Saturday night, April 27 at St. Joseph’s Auditorium Academy, 30th Avenue and 44th Street just a few blocks from Steinway Street at 7:30 pm – 12 midnight. Wonderful music will be provided by Mike and Noreen Sherry as well as traditional Irish music and Irish step dancers. If you would like to experience your Irish culture and heritage please come along.
New York 'Mary from Dungloe' are seeking contestants, ages 19 – 27 who are interested in entering their pageant, called the New York ‘Mary from Dungloe (Dungloe, in situated on the north west coast of Donegal in Ireland was immortalized in the ballad ‘Mary from Dungloe’ sung by Emmet Spiceland and Daniel O’Donnell)
First prize enables the 2019 NY ‘Mary to represent New York and will take a free round trip to Ireland this July for 10 days, to compete in the Mary from Dungloe International festival, all expenses paid; a Modell’s gift certificate; Donegal crystal ; cash; embroidered sash and flowers will be presented to the winner on the night of Saturday, April 27, 2019
Single tickets or tables for 10 are available at $50.00. Book early to avoid disappointment.
Hot and cold buffet will be provided as well as desserts, tea and coffee.
