Congratulations to Seán O'Dowd, the 2025 IBO St. Patrick's Day Parade Grand Marshal! The installation of Seán and his aides will be taking place at this evening event.

About Seán O'Dowd

Seán O’Dowd, CFA is a revered and well-known member of the Irish and Irish American community of New York City.  As an IBO executive board alum serving three terms as First Vice President, Seán has donated his time and skills to many organizations including the Irish American Writers and Artists and Graduate Gateway - the collaborative effort seeking to ease the transition for recent Irish graduates into the American workforce.  He also serves on the Board of the Emerald Isle Immigration Center.

Seán has been the recipient of several accolades such as The Significant Sig Award - one of the highest honors given to alumni of  the Sigma Chi International Fraternity - and 2023 Grand Marshal of the County Sligo Social & Benevolent Association St. Patrick’s Day Parade march up Fifth Avenue, an honor close to Seán’s heart as the son of a Sligo immigrant. In 2020, Seán became the first North American Ambassador for the Glasgow-based Celtic FC Foundation and is also part of the Globalcelts network.

With an MBA in Finance from the Yale School of Management, Seán is currently Managing Director of Silvercrest Asset Management, a position held since 2018 after over 12 years as Senior Vice President at Bessemer Trust.  He is also a CFA Charterholder and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. Seán is also a Member of The Economic Club of New York.

He resides in East Norwalk, CT, with his wife Kristan and their twin girls, Maeve and Emily, and their dogs, Darby and Róisín.
