ABOUT OUR GUESTS
Sean Murphy
Sean Murphy is Food & Beverage manager at the Rockaway Hotel in Rockaway Beach, Queens, NY. The boutique hotel features 3 restaurants: Margie’s, The Pool Bar, and The Rooftop. The restaurants and hotel are run by IGC Hospitality, (In Good Company Hospitality) a New York City based hospitality management and development firm that owns and operates a portfolio of diverse restaurants, event spaces, and nightlife venues, including Park Avenue Tavern, Refinery Rooftop, Vintage Green, and O’Toole’s Way.
Sean is the founder and publisher of MurphGuide.com, an on-line NYC nightlife guide. His 25 years of “research” has brought him to over 1500 bars in NYC alone. He has been a member of the IBO since 2000.
Kerry Agate
Born in Belfast and a graduate of Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Kerry moved to New York City in 2001. While many Irish expats find their way into construction or hospitality, Kerry happily chose the latter and has spent over two decades in the industry. Her early experiences range from working waiting tables in the East Village, fine dining restaurants in Union Square and dive bars in Hell's Kitchen.
In the late 2000s, Kerry joined Stout Hospitality Group at their flagship 33rd Street location and worked in a variety of roles, from bartender to General Manager. Today, she is an Operating Partner at Stout Bryant Park.
Kevin Doherty
Kevin Doherty is the owner of two busy Manhattan pubs, Tara Rose and Tara Mór. Originally from rural Donegal, with family roots in Belfast and Derry, he is bringing a fresh take on Irish hospitality to New York City through both venues. Blending craft Irish beer, contemporary culture, and a strong sense of community, he’s redefining what an Irish bar can be. His first opening, Tara Rose, is now evolving into an all-day coffee spot and cocktail bar, reflecting the changing pace of modern city life. Meanwhile, his Midtown venue Tara Mór has become a bustling hotspot—recently named by The Times as one of the top five places in Manhattan for a pint of Guinness.
Jack McGarry
Belfast-native Jack McGarry is Managing Partner of The Dead Rabbit where he oversees all operations and business expansion. Under his stewardship–and now in its 10th year–The Dead Rabbit has become one of the world’s most awarded and globally recognized pubs, winning eight Tales of the Cocktail awards and five World’s 50 Best Bars awards, including World’s Best Bar twice. He is the youngest ever recipient of International Bartender of the Year and is recognized as an expert on Irish Whiskey, Irish spirits overall, cocktail development, and world-class pub operations. Thus far, he has authored five books on the subject.
Jack is a tireless champion for contemporary Irish culture, and has built an ecosystem at The Dead Rabbit that reinforces this mission. In an effort to challenge conventional Irish-American pub stereotypes and create more ways to tell a modern, authentic story, Jack will be bringing The Dead Rabbit to new U.S. cities in 2023 and beyond, starting with Austin and New Orleans.
Both inside and outside of the four-walls of The Dead Rabbit, Jack is a strong supporter of philanthropy centered around Irish arts and education in the U.S. and in Ireland, as well as mental health, and specifically within the hospitality industry.
